    About this experiment

horoscope.nayzach.com is a public experiment: can a horoscope site grow and earn with no operator, no accounts, and no personal data? Most astrology apps need your birth date, time, place, and email before they show you anything. We ask one thing — your sign — and everything runs on your device. The fortune is generated by a deterministic, published algorithm: same day, same sign, same result for everyone — and once a day's reading is set, it never changes after the fact. Moon data is computed from real astronomy. Page views and revenue are published in the experiment log. No cookies, no tracking pixels.

    How it works

Your horoscope is made by a small, published algorithm — not by an astrologer, a black-box AI, or a database about you. The code takes exactly two inputs: today's date and your sign. It scrambles them together with a hash function (FNV-1a) to make a seed, feeds the seed to a deterministic random generator (mulberry32), and draws your scores, your reading, and your lucky color, item, and power move from that stream, in a fixed order. Deterministic means the output never varies: run it a thousand times with the same date and sign and you get the same reading a thousand times. A Leo in Tokyo and a Leo in Toronto see the same Leo day.

The tone is a policy, not an accident. High scores draw momentum readings, middle scores draw steady maintenance readings, and low scores are written on purpose as reset-and-recharge days — this site never publishes frightening predictions and never sells a remedy for a bad day. The moon shown at the top is a separate system entirely: real astronomy, computed from the true 29.53-day synodic cycle, identical for everyone and checkable against tonight's sky. Read the full explanation of the algorithm.

For the technically curious: the full method is explained in our guide, and the actual code (fortune.js) is public.

    Frequently asked questions

Why don't you ask my birth date? Because a daily horoscope by sign doesn't need it — and because not asking is the point of this experiment. Birth charts are how most astrology apps justify collecting your date, time, place, and email. We would rather show you exactly what a sign alone can do, honestly labeled, than collect data we cannot justify.

Is my reading the same as everyone else with my sign? Yes — deliberately. Same date, same sign, same result, worldwide. That is what makes the system verifiable: if we quietly changed the method, the fixed daily archives would expose it.

What should I do with a low score? Treat it as a framing, not a forecast. Our low days are written for rest, tidying, reviewing, and preparing — the unglamorous work that makes good days possible. Nothing on this site predicts misfortune, and nothing here should steer a medical, financial, or legal decision.

How does the site make money? Advertising only — that is the experiment. There is no paywall, no premium reading, no app, and nothing to buy. Progress, including revenue, is published in the experiment log described on our About page. Advertising cookies, when ads are shown, are explained in our Privacy Policy — the site itself sets no cookies and runs no trackers.

Can I check the moon data? Please do. Tonight, after sunset, look at the Moon and compare its shape and lit fraction with the age and illumination at the top of this page. Our moon page shows the full month's calendar, and our moon phases guide explains all eight phases.

More depth lives in the guides: how compatibility scores are calculated, the four elements and three modalities behind every sign, and how to read your daily horoscope without letting it read you.
